OUR STORY

Chi Omega Fraternity is the largest fraternal women’s organization in the world, with over 320,000 initiates and 176 collegiate chapters. Chi Omega was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas by Ina May Boles, Jean Vincenheller, Jobelle Holcombe, Alice Simonds, and Dr. Charles Richardson.

Chi Omega was built upon six purposes: friendship, high standards of personnel, scholarship, campus involvement, career and personal development, and community service. These purposes can be seen in the structure of the sorority as well as within each and every member.

The Zeta Alpha chapter of Chi Omega was installed at the Ohio State University in 1919. Since then, it has grown to be one of the largest of the 16 sororities on campus, with 157 active members. These women strive to uphold the values of Chi Omega so that Zeta Alpha may be a chapter of excellence.
